What is even more amazing than the price, is the gold/silver ratio, which is now around 37:1. That's incredibly low.

OK I got mine back and it's a solid SP-68. This is one of those times when I think... what the heck must that poor guy have been thinking. He pulls apart my submissions of large cents and high grade dollars. Pretty decent stuff overall and worth grading. Then he gets to the end of the form and there's this.... Royal Canadian Mint "trick"... and he's gotta grade it, but he knows it's not worth it in any dramatic sense. Maybe one or two other idiots besides me has been foolish enough to submit one and pay ten bucks after forking over 20 to buy it. There's no comparative metric to rely on and the best you can do is standard grading metrics. So you take a look for scratches and rim dings and if there are none... voila... it's a 68. It might be a 69, but it's probably not. It can't be a 70 because we don't give that grade. 67 seems a little shy considering I just had to unpackage it and throw away the mint cert. hmmm ... yeah 68... God Save the Queen. That'll be ten bucks

Thanks Hawk!
I wasn't paying much attention lately but silver is passed 47 USD! That means we have close to $12 in silver in the coin. How high will it go?

Quote: but silver is passed 47 USD The still rising price of silver has forced the German Government on April 13, 2011 to change the German "10 Euros for a 10 Euro Silver NCLT coin" program. Yes, for many, many years, Germany had a NCLT program -- first 5 DM coins, then 10 DM coins, since 2002 the 10 Euro coins -- where "silver content value" was BELOW the face value of the coin. Which, by the by, makes the uproar here in the CCF community about the Canadian "$20 for $20" program actually quite amusing for me. But, of course, the German government still wants to make many from coin collectors. So the German 10 Euro coins program will be changed. One will still be able to get German 10 Euros NCLT coins for 10 Euros, HOWEVER, they will be made from cupro-nickel. And additionally, the issues will also be available in silver 625/copper 375 for metal value plus 10 Euros surcharge plus taxes. Until last year, the German 10 Euro coins had silver 925. The silver price forced them to cut the silver content to 625. P.S.: Sorry, if this posting is considered to be a bit off topic...

If you can get it for $35 USD, that's about what you'll pay in CDN, with the us dollar being garbage.

Price has dropped to about $28 US.
Still not bad, considering silver has levelled off.

After checking out the weight & size of the coin, It isn't for me. I can find better coins to spend my 20 bucks on.
