Thats' good to know eaglefoot, cause here in the east of US those dates are not to common, and they are some of the ones I save.

I keep all "S" mint cents, primarily because I keep all copper cents...

Yes I do. All business strike S-mint cents are 95% copper. All non-business strike S-Mint cents are proof. I keep all 95% copper and proof cents. Therefore, I keep all S-mint cents.  |

I definitely do. I hardly ever find them, which is mostly through roll-searching, and they're a nice change of pace to the Ps and Ds. Quote:

They are scare in the midwest too. Out of all my searching I think I've found 4-5 of the 1973-S....which is the second lowest Memorial cent mintage. All of the memorial S mints have mintages below 1 billion so I save them. |

I keep and hoard every S-mint memorial I find. As of today, I think I have almost 5000 of 'em. I find more than my share of them out here on the left coast.  They won't be worth more than FV in my lifetime and I realize that. But I have a very beautiful 8 month old grandaughter now.  It's very possible that her children...or her grandchildren will want 'em.  |

They made coins for circulation at the San Fancisco mint from 1968-74.
I keep all from 1970, because I haven't gotten around to learning how to spot the small date variety. Besides that, I release 69-74s and keep anything else, since I keep all the wheaties I find and would definitely keep a proof if I ever came across one.

I don't roll search for Lincoln's but I keep any I find in change. Don't come across very many here in Pennsylvania.

I save all of mine and organize then into rolls by date
so far the only one I have a full roll of is 1974 (I have 2 full rolls of that date)
the others I am still working on full rolls.
I have been at it for 2 years
to someone like me they would be worth something
I don't buy a lot of coins but if I did I wouldn't mind spending 2-3 bucks on a roll of circulated S mints
(this is what people sell common wheats for, just saying

I'm in the West so I find them all the time. Unless they are BU, I throw 'em in the copper jar.

I don't find many of them on the East Coast, so I was saving them, but I don't think there's much of a premium on them so I stopped. I may take the suggestion of building out one roll. Doesn't hurt and doesn't cost much, plus I can just dump them if I feel like it.

I enjoy keeping them because there's something special about a circulating S-Mint coin. Hearing about how they're so abundant in California, I hope to make it out there someday to swim in a small cupful of them!
