Well, that's what the PCGS boards are saying. Apparently, James Taylor has quit ANACS. Details are still fuzzy. I'm trying to figure out if this is true and what effect it will have on ANACS. So, anybody know?

What would that do to ANACS slabs? Would their value rise, decrease, or stay the same?

not sure, I was just stating my strong opinion of what James did with ANACS in a short time (some worked and some obviously didn't)it is some awful big shoes to fill with a next guy if the rumors are true that he has left ANACS. There may be some positives to come from him leaving but I just cant see the future to say, I can just say he had the best relation with the customers of any president of a company that I know of and if he is gone I just dont see how it can be a positive move

I hope this is only a rumor and not reality. Mr. Taylor appeared, to me anyway, to be ANACS's saving grace. I believe he is/was going to make ANACS truly competitive with PCGS and NGC.

Well, if Miles Standish replaces him, we'll know what was up.

Haven't seen anything at CoinWorld's site. Haven't read it in the last two issues of CoinWorld either but that could be because I HAVEN'T GOTTEN THEM YET!

I recently read the last two issues and didn't see a thing about it. I really hope this is just a rumor .I have five Morgans going in next week.

I do not see how Anacs will suffer even if your rumors are true. People come and go. Mr. Taylor did not grade coins, and that is what Anacs does. He may have decided to move the opperation and it may have been his call to change the slabs ( my oppinion- a bad choice),but there is no reason the accuracy of the grading should change. After the dealings I had with him, had I been in position to do so, I would have fired him. So if it is true I cannot say I am worried. All my type coins are in the old Anacs holders and I will not worry about their value, and I'm sure the new slabs will not have a notation on them stating 'Mr. Taylor does not work here any more.'

If it is true, I DO think that it will cause a problem for ANACS. I think that he brought a lot of credibility to them. I say this because it did for me. I hope that it is not true...

My thoughts, too. I did not mean to imply that grading would decline, only that Mr. Taylor seems to be a creative individual with great marketing and organizational skills, and that would, if his ideas were fully implemented, cause ANACS to become equally competitive in the marketplace with PCGS and NGC, especially with regard to collector acceptance and prices realized for their encapsulated coins. I know I was excited about it and had planned to send my first submission to ANACS. Now I'm not so sure.

I wanted to take pictures of what I did today with the "new holder", I did it quickly and recklessly and got a couple cracks in the case, but all I did was hold it in my hands and twist and it popped open like a clam shell so no matter what Mr Taylor said when he was here this is a major problem

Remember I didn't try and not mess the case up I was just trying to open it. This was a 1909 VDB graded MS-64 and I had already peeled the graded side of the label off to put in the back of my Dansco album, but I do have a DMPL Morgan coming and I will take better care when cracking it open and will post pictures of it also afterwards. But as you can see there is only 1 crack on each side of the lower case that could have been avoided if done properly and no one would ever know the difference

Grading is grading is grading. As long as the graders are competent, it should be o.k. However, it seems to me that Mr. Taylor was moving ANACS is a newer (better) direction. Without him, who knows? It is only my opinion, but I was excited in the direction they were headed, now I am not so sure.

They've all had problems in the past with holders. The first time (and LAST time) I sent a coin into PCGS it came back in one of those "rattlers." ANACS' problem with their new holder is just another example to me of the superiority of certificates. Unfortunately James didn't seem receptive to the idea.

I hope he's not leaving ANACS. Even if he was replaced by Miles Standish it would just be another problem since he Miles can't grade coins if he's doing James' job.
