Your coin has been struck through a clogged die which is fairly common but certainly interesting when letters are completely missing. The dies can get clogged with grease and metal shavings which can form a hard substance I affectionately call "mint gunk". In some cases, the mint gunk will fall out of a device and the coin will be struck through the debris. This leads to an incuse impression on the coin known as a dropped letter/number error.
