I have 2 brown box Ikes; A 71-s and 72-s. I can't find if they are normally this way or if they are indeed each a peg leg. First pic is a 71-s and the 2nd, a 72-s:

They both appear to be SPL Proofs.

SPL = Straight Peg Leg
Many consider the SPL to be a design variety, and thus, intentional.

Well, all peg legs are intentional.....

Anyone have pictures of what they should look like if mine are different. I tried ebay with no luck.

Wow, just looked at the CherryPickers Guide... $ 200 in ms-65... $ 500 in 67. Mine is blue and at least a 66... Thes #'s still good?

I am of the school that most business strike peg-legs are caused by die abrasion and therefore are die states. The Ike Group has an informative write-up on peg legs at their website at http://www.ikegroup.org/PLSURVEY.htm

I also thought the same. Just die wear.
These two are completely different in a few aspects.
1st one has a tapered peg along with a pointy 90 degree pigtail and a blunt end on the leg.
2nd one, blunt and crooked peg, 90 deg., blunt and shorter pigtail and a tapered leg.
