1978 D Kennedy Half Dollar No FG - Coin Community Forum

matmyers New Member United States 3 Posts	Posted 05/25/2011 8:20 pm I found a 1978 D No FG Kennedy in a roll last week. I can't find any documentation that anyone else has found one. A microscope shows me no evidence of an FG. Is this a good find, or a great find? Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 05/25/2011 9:49 pm It is a die that has been polished down and removed it. It was there when the die was created as the design includes the FC. The polishing removed it to cover clashes. To me they are worth 50 cents. But others do collect them and other over polished items. Just not me! Report this Post to the Staff
just2vicarious New Member United States 2 Posts	Posted 07/21/2011 11:34 pm I noticed your find.awesome,I actually was the first to discover the 1978-D NO FG,and had it submitted to the Cherry Pickers Guide last year.Mine is a PCGS MS65,and until it is popular enough,the CPG will not assign it a variety number.so there is no telling how popular it is or will be.
