First of all, greetings to everyone. I have been "lurking" for a few weeks ever since I got into LMC coin roll hunting in an attempt to fill some Harris folders for my 9 year old grandson. I have searched about 10,000 pennies so far, and have to say, this is a very addictive hobby!

I'm not sure, but "think" I may have found a 1988 D RDV-006. I have looked at this coin probably 100 times and think I see the sherif at the bottom for sure, and a partial on the top? I hope my pictures are defined enough so you will be able to form an opinion. I have read there are other "markers?" to look for also, and am here to learn. Thanks in advance for any input and opinions on this coin.

Hi and

To CCF

A past lurker huh

It looks good to me. And if it holds up that "D"
mint mark is a plus. Before you start fruit jumping
better wait just a while longer for some more replies.
I was wrong once before. Just once
I just noticed. There's a veggie in that fruit group.
Get it outta there.

Thanks for the greetings and viewpoints/opinions so far! Thinking of taking it to a local coin dealer to see what he thinks too. I changed the topic description so folks wouldn't have to guess what I was talking about! I'm starting to get the hang of this I think. Picked up a $50.00 bag from my bank this afternoon! They said they will call me every time the coin sorter fills a bag & they are all mine. Feed the addiction!

Do not be surprised if your local dealer does not know anything about this variety. I took mine to a show in Houston and none of the dealers even knew it existed. But they all started combing through their 88's.

Can someone tell me what RDV-006 is? Might be a dumb question but I'm curious because I see a regular penny when I look at these pictures.

The top of the G looks too long to me but I am no pro. I did find one of these awhile back and it is in transit to John Wexler right now. Here is an example http://varietyvista.com/1988DRDV0061%20cent.htm

Looks more like 005.
The devices on the 006 for this year are an early die state. This dies look worn from what I can see.
