Bryan, they are beautiful looking coins. But, it's not Christmas yet. Steve

Brian, nice looking coins. I think the Bust Half is AU-58 as I see light wear on the high points, but the Barber dime looks MS-65 to me or possibly better? Others with more experience might have more valid opinions. Anyway Happy Holidays for you!

Oh, man. The Bustie is a strong XF, maybe AU50-53. I don't even want to think about the dime yet - I'll just cry.

I think she got a terrific deal on these two coins (even though I wasn't supposed to know how much they cost) she had to tell me how much they were so I could give her my opinion to make sure she wasn't getting took for a ride. She paid $100.00 for the Bust half and $50.00 for the Barber dime (which I wasn't sure about what they sell for but thought it couldn't be to bad)

I'd be really worried about that dime. The Bustie, at the quoted price, is about 50% of market. The dime is either a doctored pic/cleaned coin, or selling at between 10-20% of market value. That's a $250 coin in MS64, and it looks all of 64 to me. On the other hand, high AU Barbers are very easily mistaken for MS in pics.

SuperDave I sent you an email, but rest assured it is neither one of those and you will understand when you read the email. All of your grades are higher than the dealer stated the coins were and I will take pictures with my digital camera when I receive the coins

I've received your email, and I withdraw my concerns as a result. For the record, I'll state that Bryan informed me as to where the coins are coming from, and that knowledge immediately canceled any feelings I might have had that the deal was anything other than a typically excellent one from one of the very finest vendors in the hobby. The Bustie could be EF40 or AU53 on any given day, so the price could be either acceptable or way low. Under the circumstances you emailed me about, I would say that it's a great example of my lower-end estimate. I would have immediately snagged that coin at that price if I'd seen it, and I already have one, if that's any indication of how much I like it. The dime is a great illustration of just how hard it is to grade Barber coinage from images. Based on the new information, I'm guessing that it's a very high-end AU, the kind that you'd have to go to a Gem to beat the eye appeal. Again, I'd have snagged it immediately had I seen it, and I don't even collect Barber dimes.
