I agree with mid-AU. This was a fairly common year for half eagles and though your coin is in nice condition it won't carry a premium much over melt value.

From the pictures, I would venture an AU55. This grade could definitely go higher with better pictures or with the coin in hand.

Is there luster on the coin? If there is and it's fairly strong this could fall in a MS holder.

It's my father's coin. He collects mostly modern cents and State Quarters. Coin was
a Christmas present from mom. When I see them again, I'll try to get a better scan.
