Walker Half Dollar With PVC- Help - Coin Community Forum

Tracelol New Member United States 24 Posts	Posted 06/13/2012 10:47 pm This is a very high grade walker, I forgot about it in my collection and it became covered in PVC. I tried acetone to remove it, but it wont come off. Even with a Qtip it wont rub off. I dont think the coin is too far gone, or is it? HOW DO I GET IT OFF?! Report this Post to the Staff

Make sure you have good-quality acetone (should leave zero residue when you let some evaporate from a glass). Try a longer soak. You can gently poke at the spots with a toothpick but don't rub. If the surface has been corroded by PVC action it can't be fixed. One more option would be BadThad's Verdi-Care product. It is generally used on copper but is perfectly safe for silver.
