mds308 Pillar of the Community United States 1721 Posts	Posted 12/22/2012 1:55 pm I have seen the ASE partially gold plated, covered with holograms, done with a red, white & blue theme and other assorted field insertions. I and many others do not like these coins. Yes, they have their silver value but there really is no other added value unless the end buyer flips over them and is willing to pay a premium. jerseyben Pillar of the Community United States 1211 Posts	Posted 12/23/2012 09:02 am PCGS Price Guide indicates that there is only about a $20 difference between MS63 and MS69 PCGS graded ASE's. The real jump seems to be when you hit MS70 and really only several ASE's older than 2009 seem to be worth big bucks in MS70. To me, ASE's are just bullion. That is why I specifically try to buy them in ugly low grades to keep the premium low. Report this Post to the Staff

As stated above, the only added value to these coins over bullion, would be as an MS69 or MS70. If these coin have been handled or have spent any extended time out of their original mint tubes, then they will not qualify as 69 or 70. It would be a waste of money to have them graded as it would add no real additional value over raw coin bullion value. Report this Post to the Staff
