Walking, I would pick up most any coins (esp. pennies in Canada as you don't see them much these days). However, I ride my bicycle to work quite often. If I am in a hurry I won't go back for a small coin I see as I could be a quarter block down the street by time I realize what I saw. If not pressed for time I might stop for it.

I do not have any problem picking up a cent from the ground. I contribute being observant to finding money. I have found a $100 bill, a few $20's & $5's dollar bills here and there.

I pick every cent I find up. People may look at me funny but hey I have a cent (or 25) more than they do now.

So far this year I'm up to $2.67 found. Already paid for a low grade hole filling IHC for myself :)

Two years ago I changed planes at Lisbon airport. I went into the men's washroom and saw a bright shiny 1 eurocent coin in the lavatory bowl, reverse side up! There are so many different types of these - especially with all the German mint marks - that I thought it could well be an addition to my collection! I managed to flick it out onto the floor with the toilet brush, then picked it up in some toilet paper and rinsed it in the sink. Unfortunately it was a 1999 French one, which I already had, so it just went into my spending money!

Makes me feel better knowing I'm not the only one, way back when I was like 15, I went into the bathroom at a Burger King, and the urinal was filled with Canadian pennies for some reason. Of course every single one of these went into the sink before my pocket.
