I came across a weird coin in my grandpa's coin collection..its a Kennedy half dollar...1973 D with Elizabeth II Dei Gratia Regina FD on the tail side. Its not glued together, its more fused. The Kennedy side looks to be silver and the Elizabeth side looks more copper-ish. Anyone know what this is? And the value of this coin? I'm going to be listing it on E Bay and I would like to know a price, or even what it is before I list it.

Welcome to CCF!

We would need pictures to even begin to formulate an answer. But, it sounds like maybe you have a Magicians coin?

see the seam on the right side of the edge in your picture. It's still a pretty good alteration.

It is part of the gimmicked coin for my all-time favorite magic trick scotch and soda, which I've always seen done with a 20 centavo. Variations are gin and tonic, and vodka and OJ.

If you want an inexpensive coin trick that a five year old can do, but will stump most adults, spend the sawbuck and get one. It'll last for decades if you don't have a DA attack and spend it, which is how I got my last one.

I have one of these coins as well. They were made for the magic trick "silver and copper", it's very similar to the scotch and soda trick that was described above. They are currently being sold online as a magic trick for about $40.00
