Received this dime as change from a local 7-11 and I have been holding onto it for awhile. My original thought was someone put this dime in between something to try and mess with it. But upon closer examination of the edges it doesn't look bent/messed with at all. Was going with a acid bath but then the whole coin would have been destroyed.
So I'm guessing its a grease filled roosey?

I do not think it is a minting error of any kind. It looks as if it has been in contact with something very corrosive. I am no expert, so my opinion is just that.
