The Mint released their schedule for 2015: http://catalog.usmint.gov/full-prod...le-2015.htmlAt the bottom of the list I notice some interesting items. First, all 4 presidents will be having a Coin & Currency set; Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Johnson. Also, in 2015 the mint will have some sort of high-relief coin, one in gold & one in silver. The coins subject was not in the description. I wonder what in Mint has up their sleeve? Edited by welder 12/20/2014 1:49 pm

I saw "Coin and CHRONICLES" sets. Didn't they do one of those this year? It was a pretty cheap (not price wise though) set from what I could tell. No "currency".
The silver high relief is a "medal", not a coin. I was disappointed to see that. I believe high relief medals are commonplace.

I think the FDR "C&C" set was just a cheezy golden dollar coin, a medal, which most coin collectors have no interest in, and a stamp, which was worth all of face value, on a good day. Most people won't give face value for a postwar stamp because of the hassle of using so many of them to make the modern postage rate! So it was of little interest for such a high cost.

IIRC, the Mint had left over blank gold planchets from the 2009 UHR $20 Double Eagle coin which they want to use up

Welder: as mentioned the Mint has those sets listed as Coin & Chronicles not currency....I am waiting for the C & currency set to be repeated in 2015 with a 100k mintage and HH limits...definitely will spike the 2014 set's price...another EU SAC dollar!

I thought maybe they would end the Kennedy at the 50th anniversary, but there's the 2015 right there on the list.

I see that there is a 2015 Limited Edition Silver Proof Set on the list. Are they just going to skip 2014?

For the record, I really, really, really like the silver medal in the Theodore Roosevelt C&C set. So much that I will be getting this year's FDR set as well. We all know I am getting the Eisenhower set, no matter what is in it.

However, if they mint a 2015 half dollar, I would expect to see a proof (albeit clad) one in the set, just as the 2014 FDR set has the clad proof dime in it.

I was unaware the FDR set had not released yet. The fact that I have read so many people are disappointed with the set, I thought they already had them. I guess people are disappointed in advance. I know what is in the set, and I wouldn't want it.
It might be slightly less disappointing if it had a silver coin, instead of a medal. I collect coins, not medals. No interest.
The stamps are worth nil. Pull them out of the set and ADD some more stamps to them and mail one letter.

The FDR Set's silver medal is at least unique to the FDR C&C set, but that set was just begging for a 2014-W Dime (in any finish). I love the Theodore Roosevelt silver medal, and he is way overdue for a commemorative gold coin (after all, he commissioned Augustus St. Gaudens!). I'd suggest an Ultra High-Relief $50 with Theodore on the front, a no-motto St. Gaudens Eagle reverse, "In God We Trust" on the edge.

I'm very glad that there will be a 2015 Limited Edition Silver Proof Set!! I thought it was a little odd that the two sets were released in the following year. Maybe this is a 'catch-up' and will make the series more popular. I'm also hopeful that they resolve some of the quality issues. Let's face it, the 2013 sets were a beautiful set of coins, well arranged, but packaged in a very low quality case. I sure hope the people at the Mint fix that... thankfully, my fellow collectors on this site had the fix. Taking the cover off the set and rotating it saved me the trouble and aggravation of sending my sets back to the mint. Thanks again guys!
