Hi I have been offered this coin for $25 dollars. Something about it doesn't look right to me, but that doesn't mean much as I have no experience in buying this type of coin.

If it authentic and is it worth the asking price?

the 1 over 200 looks off to me. seems like the coin if genuine has lots of detail left on it for a 25 dollar price. I think I would pass.

This is BEYOND fake. The date is too far from the rim, the coin looks good from a distance, but closer up.... no.

Terrible fake. If real this coin would be worth in excess of $800 US.

Although bigger pictures would be a boon (as far as identifying the variety) I'd have to agree that the best course of action is to walk away from this one.

It looks fake to me. If a deal is too good to be true, it probably is.

There are four varieties of 1803 Half Cents, none of them have the gap between the ends of the wreath below the S. This piece does.

It's a cheap fake.

On an authentic one, the "1" in the date sits much closer to the rim.
Also, the second outer leaf at the top, on the left side of the wreath should point to the "T" in STATES. And, there shouldn't be any leaves touching the "F" in HALF.
Those are just a few flaws that stand out.

This one looks a lot like a fake you could get on aliexpress for $2.55. Heck, they even make it in copper for you!

I agree. All of the numerals look wrong.
