nohope587 Pillar of the Community United States 5953 Posts	Posted 12/20/2005 5:10 pm Ok I have taken into acount everything that has been said about Mr Lincolns other visits to this forum. I had this one at MS63+ ater reveiwing it I now put it at MS61 Some points about the coin The motto is doubled in "Unum" The left hand wheat stalk is Toned but the toning is a bright silver that I have never seen before and was not on the coin when I got it. Mr Lincolns shoulder seems to have a case of road rash. The strange silver toning is also present at the back of Mr Lincolns head. This is not a high dollar coin by any means but it is pretty. I paid $4 a couple of years ago anyone care to hazard a guess at its current value? Has anyone ever seen silver toning on a copper coin before and if so any ideas where it came from? Metalman Pillar of the Community United States 7123 Posts	Posted 12/21/2005 02:59 am Hi Nohope The shoulder area looks more like a stuck thru grease or a problem with the die perhaps !I dont think it is post mint damage. as for the silver color, the only time I have seen a wheatie turn silver colored is from heat, but in a limited area like that I have not seen such an anomoly before. I think you are about right on the grade, the coin should have a realistic value of around 8 to ten bucks,, The doubling on UNUM appears to be Strike Doubling dont ask me how it can occur in a limited area ! I just know it does. Im more interested in what I see on the ICA of America ! This area has an interesting appearance in the pics. Nice coin !! Rick Report this Post to the Staff

There appears to be some pitting, but nicely struck and plenty of color. As far as value goes, this one is a bit tough. In MS-63 CDN ask is $2.25 Report this Post to the Staff
