Being a geologist, summer is my busiest time. I am heading out into the barren lands of northern Labrador for about 6 weeks. If you guys act up in the Canadian forum, you'll be dealt with swiftly with those who have much less patience than I - so keep it clean and friendly while I am gone!!  I will have satellite internet and might drop by on occasion during the summer, if only to brag about how cool the rocks are, and how good the fishing is... Have a good summer all!! I have returned from the wild, but only home for one day. I am now sitting in the Ottawa airport, heading to St. John's Newfoundland for a conference. The forecast looks awesome for The Rock!! Glad to have you back on the forums, SPP. Speaking of geological field work I used to party with a guy at CBU studying Petroleum/ geological engineering. He was from Margaree so on the off chance I asked him if he knew ya. Michael F*****. Sure enough he did. Small world, eh?

Why is summer fieldwork always in remote places? Do we know everything there is to know about tourist destinations? Or are scientists not to be trusted to behave for the summer? Anyways, welcome back.
