HelpMePlease New Member United States 4 Posts	Posted 11/04/2015 8:40 pm Hello Coin Collectors, Please forgive me, I know literally NOTHING about coins. My mother passed away last week and I have been going through her things and she had a large amount of coins that included quite a few Kennedy half dollars. One of them had a cross carved into Kennedys head and on the other side the number 5 carved into the center of the coin. I dont know why she was saving these particular coins, she was in the military and saved a lot of things, but I was hoping someone could tell me what this means. jack jeckel Pillar of the Community United States 5216 Posts	Posted 11/04/2015 8:42 pm Do you have a picture? I guess it depends on how crude the carving was and what year the coin was. I guess if it was from the Vietnam era it could have been some sort of trench art or some bored soldier did it otherwise it was most likely done by some kid. Report this Post to the Staff
