Unidentified (French?) Coin Triple Fleur-Du-Lis One Side Cross On Other

I searched for similar coins, but have not been able to find a match. Text not readable/heavily stylised. If anyone has any ideas as to what this might be I would be very interested to hear! thanks! Sap Moderator Australia 17006 Posts	Posted 02/23/2016 6:26 pm it appears to be a replica (in fine silver) of a very early French base-silver coin, from the reign of Charles VI of France (1368-1422). The style of lettering is typical of coins from this date, but the fabric of this piece is much more modern-looking. Here's an example of a genuine coin from the period with a similar design. I would guess a 19th century reproduction, presumably made for use as jewellery and (I would guess, from the name it bears) dating from the reign of the king Charles X. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis Report this Post to the Staff
