Nothing earth shattering but fun finds and a gift for Christmas.
Forgive the Blackberry picture, my camera is in my office and I'm on vacation.
The 1970d and 1995P were given to me in change this week. The 70d is so shiny and new looking that I had to put it in a plastic holder and keep it. The 1995P is a very interesting coin. I had to do some reading on this forum to understand why it has become this copper tone but it's still a cool looking coin and I'll keep it for the novelty.
The best however waited till Christmas night. My elderly neighbor was at our family Christmas party and gave me present that was a big hit with me. Her husband was a coin collector and she has seen me sitting on the floor going through boxes of pennies.
What she gave me was truly awesome! A 1909 VDB in a case with a 3" replica!
I didn't except at first but I mow her lawn and she insisted. What a nice gift! I wish I had found it roll hunting but I'll take it!
Question, does anyone know when this particular exhibit was offered? I can't find any information about it on the web and I'd be interested to know.
