I own the Whitman folder for cents 1975-2013 and it lists

1982 Copper Large date.
1982 Copper Small date.
1982 Zinc Large date.
1982 Zinc Small date.

1982D Copper Large date.
1982D Zinc Large date.
1982D Zinc Small date.

Did the Denver mint mint any 1982D Copper Small dates?

IIRC, one or two examples are known, and considered to be off-metal errors.

I'm not very sure how did it even get to seven combinations, personally. Did Philadelphia produce several of those at the same time?

Large dates were designed for striking in 95% copper. Small dates were designed to strike the new zincolns.

The switch did not occur until October or November 1982.

Philadelphia produced the master dies, and tested the small date on copper for a few production runs.

For whatever reason, Denver apparently stopped production to clear "all" of the copper planchets out of the machines before inserting the small date dies. 1983-D cents are known in 95% copper, so people figured that the 1982-D small date was out there in copper, waiting to be found.

I am not sure why Denver continued to press large date zincolns when they had gone to such lengths to prevent small date coppers.

But yes, the 1982-D small date copper is currently unique and actually goes up for auction this month, with a $3,000 opening bid!
