1963 Half Dollar Doubled Die Error?

CoinHunter27 Pillar of the Community United States 5887 Posts	Posted 01/03/2019 9:18 pm Hello. First off, it's doubled die, not double die, and second, It's DDD, or Die Deterioration Doubling. Not a doubled die. This happens when a Die gets worn out, and has struck many coins, it's considered Worthless doubling. In other words, no added value. Hope I helped! Happy hunting! spru Bedrock of the Community United States 12477 Posts	Posted 01/04/2019 01:15 am From the pics, the "doubling" seems to mostly be caused by lighting and reflection. However, there may be DDD as CH27 said as well as light Machine Doubling (MD). That type also adds no value to a coin. Keep searching!
