Take a look at the back of this coin? Does it look like a die error? In the water...top left part of waves.

I split your post out so it is not lost in the other thread.

to CCF. Please rotate photos properly before posting. I "think" I see a hit from a reeded coins edge.

@Arieo, first welcome to CCF. Second, I agree with @john1 that this is a contact mark where the reeded edge of another coin (likely a quarter) hit this coin hard enough to dent it in this pattern. It is not a mint error and the coin can be spent.

Thanks for the input and thanks for moving me. I am very new to this community topic forum so I apologize for my idiocy on these topics. But I also wanted to update the picture. In the picture, you really cannot see that it almost looks like a snake in the water to the left of the boat. I am going to see if this next picture shows what I am asking about. Let me know if I am clearly an doof or not.

Not an error, just damage from a coin contact mark from the reeded edge of a Quarter. It's Post Strike Damage ( PSD).

Yes the new pics are better, but the cause is the same--just damage and not a mint error. And of course don't stress about asking questions--we all got our start here at one point or the other.
