This is a hard "Name the Country" contest for those world coin collectors who really like a challenge.

I did say this was a "Challenge" contest.I do hope you enjoy it as much as I did picking the 12 coins for this challenge.

Your answers should be emailed.
If answers are posted they will considered as "hints" to others, the winner will be the one who sends the correct Email.

Wow, if you have 9 of them already, you know your world coins!
Good luck with the last three.

By the way, which 3 coin numbers are you having trouble with?

They are all listed in Krause book, so enjoy the look of all the coins as you search. This is so much harder when you only have one side of the coin to go by.

We have a winner!
I have received this email from Sap

"Hi again Toast,

Here are my answers:

Coin 1: Isle of Man

Coin 2: Kiribati

Coin 3: Guernsey

Coin 4: Cayman Islands

Coin 5: Burma

Coin 6: Malaysia

Coin 7: Malta

Coin 8: Cape Verde

Coin 9: Andorra

Coin 10: Liberia

Coin 11: Burundi

Coin 12: Iceland"

Congradulations Sap, A fantastic effort and a great result!
Coin 5 is a 1999, 1 Kyat, from Myanmar (formerly Burma)KM#60.

I'm surprised anyone could get all twelve in such a short time. You are truely strong with the "Darkside Force". I think perhaps you should adopt a nick name of "Darth". LOL

I'm sure your performance will have impressed anyone who collects world coins. This contest was meant to be really hard and I believed it was very hard. Well done.

Which coins were the hardest for you to identify?

For those collectors who do not yet collect world coins, I hope this contest helped you see the vastness and variety of coins of the many many nations of the world. They are worth collecting.

Thank you, one and all, and thanks to Toast for an extremely challenging quiz!

The three that really had me stumped were numbers 1, 2 and 9.

Number 1: I was looking all through the countries who have ever sent teams to the Rugby World Cup... then noticed that one year, Isle of Man issued a series with sports. D'oh!

Number 2: Knew it had to be one of those tiny ex-British island-countries somewhere in the world (where lots of seabirds come to roost). Kiribati was the last one left to look up.

Number 9: Tricky, tricky, tricky! Had me looking all over Asia for a 5 cent dragon coin. Finally gave up and started flicking at random through the "cent" countries... Liberia?!? Ain't no dragons in Liberia!!!

Great contest toast.
And a great winner in Sap.

I thought I had 7 correct, turns out only 5 were. Had no idea of the others.

Well done Sap
