I want you guys to help me confirm that I have the 1964 D/D FS 501 nickel. A very rare variety and I want to make sure I have it before I ship it out to be graded.

to the CCF! Your pic is way to blurry to give an assessment. Please take a clearer pic of the affected area.

You can buy a clip on magnifier for your phone for not much money. We need a good clear close up of the mint mark.

rather than a magnifier for your phone, I suggest a cheap USB microscope. You can find them online for only 10-15 dollars, and they'll be much better for most variety and error coin photography than the magnifier would be.

Note the location of the mintmark compared with the FS-501 example?

Your location is further to the east, so it is not that die number.

Just now actually realized the location of the mint mark on my coin is further away. Maybe you are correct. Yes, I think I need a USB microscope to take better pictures. Thank you guys for the information and clarification.
