No expert but I suspect this is not a coin. Maybe a weight of some sort? Can you post the diameter and weight?

Good point @dg that it may not be a coin. We don't have much to go on.

That sword thing on the first pic looks to be in use and therefore is likely a counterstamp. When I blow up the second pic (and squint) I think I see the vague outline of a portrait plus a letter D near the rim. Maybe this is a basal grade token or coin that was later counterstamped?

Yes sure looks like copper to me. If the OP posts the weight and diameter then maybe we can narrow it down to a ha'penny or token?
