I have a 197(something)-D Lincoln Cent that I cam across in pocket change. Can anyone help in identifying it? The first picture is the whole cent but a little out of focus. The other 2 pictures are closer pictures of the date.

@htuck, first welcome to CCF. Second, we see this phenomenon quite frequently. Evidently the coin mechanism in Penny pinball machines would scrape along the surface and occasionally line up with the last digit of the date or the L of LIBERTY. I'm pretty confident yours is dated 1971.

We just had someone ask about a "seventy something" cent very similar to yours very recently. So, others are out there!
