Sept 1, 2017, PCGS began grading for Cameo and Deep Cameo on certain CDN coins. Does anyone have any experience of re-submitting older holders for the Cameo or DCAM certs?

I have not re-holdered any slabbed coin yet, but Sometimes the older holder has more appeal than the cameo designation.

Yeah it generally goes as you would expect if you have a legitimate CAM or DCAM coin in an older holder. Keep in mind that for PCGS that means that you have cameo on both sides to the right degree. If you have a solid DCAM obverse and a weak cameo on the reverse you won't do so well. A lot of the 50's PL are like that with a pretty stellar obverse and minimal or no cameo on the reverse unfortunately. Choose your coins wisely because it's a lot to spend for nothing if they don't have a strong enough cameo. It's not an average, each side needs to meet expectations on it's own merit. I've done some experiments and had it go both ways. It's easy to feel more positive about your own coins than they deserve I find. :)

All of my cameo designated coins are in ICCS holders and they're going to stay there. Since you're in Canada maybe that's an option instead of going to PCGS with them? (I don't know if ICCS is any more or less strict than PCGS)

ICCS only grades the obverse for cameo so it is a different thing. You can get an UHC PL dollar in an ICCS flip that doesn't even have a hint of cameo on the reverse. That's completely fine if that's what you are looking for! Always important to understand how the various grading companies grade before you look at something seriously.

Most people who are regrading PCGS coins either want them in slabs regardless or are working on registry sets, so ICCS flips don't do the job. Personally I'm not much of a fan of ICCS flips, particularly for halves and dollars. ICCS is also not what it was in terms of grading. My faith in older ICCS holders having exactly what they say on them is much higher than new ones unfortunately.
