Hi everyone, it's been a while. I am still a novice having fun collecting. I just found this 1999 P Lincoln Cent. Looks like a borderline Wide AM with the FG far off the monument. But it is also damaged. I was excited too, but what do you all think? I apologize, as always, for photo quality.

I see pixlr now only allows 3 per day. Ugh. And the quality is awful!

This is a Close AM. The initials being far away from the monument confirms this (close to monument = WAM, far from monument = CAM).

Sorry, this is a CAM, notice the far FG initials, and the A in between T'A'T in states is not centered.

@CherryPicker1 @Dearborn
Oh shoot lol. I had it reversed. I thought the far FG was a Wide. Thanks very much :)

I didn't know about the T A T. That's useful too. Thank you!

Yeah, there are 3 things we look at for CAM - WAM identifiers (I mentioned the other 2 above.)

Just about posted an identical coin because every other 1999 I've seen has the A and M essentially touching each other so any decent sized gap kinda jumped out at me.
I'll focus on documented markers going forward.

Agree this is the expected CAM reverse.

In my experience the space between A'M is the least reliable of the three diagnostic available. It can change (open up) due to die wear.

The centering of the A in T'A'T is usually the most consistent pickup point.

If the A is centered it's a WAM. If the A is closer to the last T it's a CAM. Easy to see and almost never varies.

...I hadn't realized it got that bad. Good thing I was never persuaded to switch to it.

Semi-obligatory: the old optimizer (which still worked last time I checked, though I'm always afraid that it could just get closed one day because Pixlr is the "official" one now).
