Brownlow medal coins.... and..... team coins.... and ....coloured Brownlow coins...in cupronickel $1 form as well as some SILVER.
I think.
https://www.legislation.gov.au/Details/F2023L01663
Interesting that the Queens effigy will still be used.
Not sure what's going on with the 5,10,20 and50 cent coins listed? No $2 there?

The Explanatoty Statement provides much of the detail for these uncirculated coins.
Besides the club sets, there will be also these coins for both the AFL & the AFLW:
2024 $1 Coloured Uncirculated Coin - Australian Football League
2024 $1 Coloured Proof Coin - Australian Football League
2024 $1 Coloured Silver Proof Coin - Australian Football League

With these uncirculated coins the reverses remain the standard design but each denomination will feature a different effigy design on the obverse:
2024 $1 Uncirculated Coin - Jody Clark Effigy
2024 50c Uncirculated Coin - Ian Rank-Broadley Effigy
2024 20c Uncirculated Coin - Raphael Maklouf Effigy
2024 10c Uncirculated Coin - Arnold Machin Effigy
2024 5c Uncirculated Coin - Mary Gillick Effigy

In the form of set? without a $2 coin?

As there has been only five different effigy designs used since the introduction of decimal currency in 1966, maybe the RAM's thinking was that if one denomination has to miss out then it may as well be the $2 coin which seems to get most of the attention nowadays anyway!

The Mary Gillick effigy design was on pre-decimal currency from 1953 to 1964.
Still wondering in what form they will be issued?
Is this the new 2024 uncirculated and proof set?
Do they come with the AFL coins?

Quote:
They normally start making Unc and Proof sets in July the year before, so they can be ready to ship for Christmas, but these are not normal times. I seem to recall they'd previously made a commitment not to make any 2024-dated QE2 coins, but they didn't have a Charles III portrait to work with until a couple of weeks ago, and they seem to have reconsidered that position. According to the Mint's FAQ page, which dates from 5th October 2023:

Quote:
When will the Royal Australian Mint cease using the Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Effigy?

The Royal Australian Mint will continue to use the Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Obverse until May 2024. Some of the planned early 2024 coin releases have already been approved with the memorial obverse.

I would presume the 2024 Unc and Proof sets are included in those "already been approved" coins. If they had stuck to their business-as-usual production schedule, then these coins were probably already finished, boxed up and sitting in the warehouse awaiting release when the new portrait was announced.

Sap may be right ,but where is the $2 coin?

Yes, my mistake crab eater regarding Mary Gillick. I didn't look closely enough and took it for granted that Vladimir Gottwald, who designed the Royal Visit 2000 50c coin, was one of those included as one of the five designers, and not Mary Gillick.

Glad that effigy was not included as it is awful.

Seems like 2015 issues redone.....has it only been 9 years lol

Think there's need to be a little more imagination at RAM rather than profit

Collector's struggling to keep up as usual

But many making good money from it so I doubt things will change

Are you referring to the 2019 Effigies Over Time mint set?

2015 issues are a reference to AFL 'Custodians Of The Game" issue - the ones that came in a box with trading cards from memory

By the looks of that "determination" the RAM might be planning on releasing a similar set each year from now on. Yuk. That would be a pretty big cost to collectors of NCLT.
I wonder if the RAM are planning to release "Anniversary" sets of the colored $1 coins? There are a few colored versions (NCLT versions mainly plus Donation $) of circulating $1 coins now; gee I hope not. That's why I gave up collecting stamps. Australia Post just produced too many to afford collecting them all. Looks like RAM are going the same way? I guess we will see?

When I noodled these coins today, I was surprised jen, Sally, coaster or the eater of crabs hadn't tipped me off about their existence.

Then I found this thread.

I have not had a computer for over a month and doing things on a phone is so frustrating.
I have also lost interest in coins as the RAM are producing so many coins that you cannot get.
