20 sen (the Japanese equivalent of our 20 cent piece!) from Year 18 of the Meiji Dynasty: 1885.

This should be an interesting one to grade.

I'll be the sacrificial lamb who goes first. I'm guessing that the lines on obverse and reverse are from die polishing, as they are seen in crevices without crossing the devices. I'm not seeing any major flaws so I'll conservatively say MS-65.
edit: that's a gorgeous coin, Adam590!

Die polishing would normally show parallel hairlines in the fields, but not on the devices.
I will assume the non parallel hairlines are on the plastic tomb.

I see no evidence of wear on the high points of the devices.

@sel_69l: Thanks! The bottom pictures are True View pics from PCGS. The pictures are from my camera through the "plastic tomb." @Hondo Boguss: Thanks for offering yourself up as the sacrificial lamb. @echidna: Thanks for the grade. I will reveal what PCGS said tomorrow. I love the PL look on this coin (the obverse more than the reverse).

PCGS called it MS(66)+. I think the reverse is why there is no PL designation. There are tons of die polishing lines on this coin.
