mikev50 Pillar of the Community United States 1861 Posts	Posted 01/21/2026 11:50 pm imo---This is a Samanta Deva Jital (or Spalapati Deva Jital) coin, a medieval Indian coin from the Hindu Shahi dynasty (c. 850-1000 AD). Obverse (left): Features a recumbent bull to the left, often interpreted as Nandi, the bull of the Hindu god Shiva. Reverse (right): Depicts a horseman riding right, holding a spear. Material: The coin is made of silver. Origin: The coins were minted in the Kabul Valley (modern Afghanistan) and the Gandhara region (modern northern Pakistan). Inscription: The inscription in Sharada script around the bull side reads "Sri Samanta Deva". Report this Post to the Staff
