This came from a roll search. The obverse obviously has issues. The reverse is perfect. Wondering whats going on here. At first glance I thought Dryer Coin. But it still has its rim edge on it.

I agree that it almost certainly a Greaser. Have you taken the mass, just to rule out certain planchet issues?

My guess is that it looks like hard black gunk with all sorts of metal dust mixed into it.
