Well jp brought this thread up as a great place to ask about how to discern a doubled die from other types of doubling, so not a new addition but one I added two years ago. But still haven't seen another one of these since.

And certainly not going for ALL the DDO's, although that is the goal of at least one of my friends. Awesome undertaking. I'm just looking for a complete set of DDO-001 coins, per the CONECA listings, and at this point am about 8 coins from finishing it. Last weekend I pulled out that whole collection and was going to go back through and verify everything and figure out exactly what is needed and what I really need an upgrade on, but just ran out of time. Maybe this weekend. I will be putting something in the "wants" forum once I am sure of what I still need. But the short list is something like 1938 (proof), 1975, 1977-D, 1987-D, 1988-D, 1996-D and maybe 2004 (need to verify that one). 1969-S is also hanging out there, but it really is out of my price range so always pretty much knew it would be missing and I'm okay with that.

When one of the big ones come along, you might trade in some of your collection to get the harder ones as partial trades? (I often think outside the box after reading you delima. Went back to add that thought. Because someday, the opportunity my present itself. And my comment may come back to you then?)

Hello Tropicalbats! I became obsessed with LCs and their varieties, specifically hunting for them. This started 4 months ago- I've since gone through 100s of rolls and have gotten so beyond lucky in this honeymoon phase obsession. This is my first post and I just created the account to reply to this post of yours.
First I'd like to thank you, Coop and many others on this forum I've learned so much from, I'm thrilled to finally join the forum after visiting it almost daily and especially excited to meet you.
While researching various varieties I've found or hope to find I always come here hoping to find a Tropicalbats or coop photo, I happened upon this post and was shocked to learn 1990 is such a unicorn, because I knew I'd found one early in the CRH journey and tossed it in one of my many "CDD/WDD/CCDD Misc DDs" roll. Since reading this post I searched all the 90s I've since collected, and decided to go searching for the one I was fairly confident I'd found.

Well today, I found it, and how's this for magical coincidences, a beautiful 1987-D DDO-001 was in the same roll I'd forgotten I found. Here are some basic photos of the identifiers.

I know this was years ago and you may have already acquired, but would love to share anyway.

They look beautiful in hand. I'm still learning and very new, have a solid collection of exciting things to be sent for grading. I recently convinced a bank manager to sell me 30$ of Lincoln rolls. In that haul there were multiple customer wrapped uncirculated rolls, most notably 83p and 88p, all pristine, both with multiple DDs, including an EARLY die stage minimum MS65 83 FS-802. I'd love to chat with you about the 88 Roll sometime. Many repeating die pairs of very early stage plump devices with pristine surfaces that make certain die markers harder to say with certainty but I'm cautiously very optimistic.
Thank you again for all the help over these months! I have Lincoln date specific photo albums saved in my phone featuring photos of the variety you and coop have posted and it's helped me immensely.
Best wishes and very pleased to meet!

And very pleased to meet you. But I'm out the door right now giving talks on bats and then catching a few tonight for a "Bat Night" event. Will be more in touch later. Pics appear to be screenshots which likely you will get told about, but for a quick glance double check the 1987-D as the insides of the B in LIBERTY look too large and round-ish for the DDO-001.

Welcome, thank you, and more later!
