I actually found a Bicentennial Silver Ike around 25 years ago at a store that I worked at. Haven't found one since and I've been grabbing any and all I find while searching for halves.

For the old large size dollars there were 1000 in a bag.

There are a thousand in a bag. They are hard to get, as most tellers have no clue as to what they are let alone order them. But I do have connections from working at a bank, a friend of mine who just got promoted to a head teller spot recently might be able to get them for me.

So if I was able to obtain a bag of Ikes, what years would I be looking for?

Dude, a Capped Bust half? That is unreal, even with the hole drilled through it. I would wear it around my neck since some bozo already trashed it.

I suspect that the banks and the fed are both hesitant to send the Ikes because they assume that after going through the bag, you'll dump it right back in their lap.

you'd want to keep 73's, 1971 - 1976 silver clads, proofs for all years, any commemrative dollars, any silver dollars, any errors, and die varieties for 76 and 71.

What year was that capped bust half?

Great finds. I keep checking at my local bank but haven't had that kind of success!
