I don't know if these are rare or not but hadn't seen one until picking this one recently. Quite strong doubling for a variety not in the CPG.

That's very nice doubling on a Flying Eagle cent. That doubled die is categorized as 1858 Snow-6. NGC will attribute that as VP-005, but it doesn't seem like PCGS attributes that variety as a specific catalog entry.

Could be a rare snow 7. I have one I bought from Rick Snow and this variety is hard to determine on coins with below XF grade. I think I see the attributes, but it would take professional grader to identify.

Jimbo makes a good observation.

From the guide I have, S6 is low leaves reverse, S7 is high leaves reverse.

It's hard to see the faded leaf by the C. No idea if it's directly high or low leaf. But on HL, the broad leaf next to the thin leaf is flush with the wreath. On LL, the tip protrudes outside the wreath envelope. So this reverse looks a bit HL to me.

Theoretically, S7 is an 1858/7 RPD, FS-302 weak overdate. Although PCGS has two different DDO coin types attributed as S7 on the reference page. One doubling type matches this coin, the other has doubling underneath rather than over.
