This is the reverse of a 1983 LMC. Look at columns 4, 7 & 8. I've looked at thousands of cents and never seen this before. In order the pix show the complete coulmns view, and closeups of columns 4, 7 & 8. Anyone seen this before?

Caused by severe polishing and Die Deterioration. 80s decade well known for it.

The mark in bay # 3 & 4 and above the cornice are parts of a die clash. The die polishings are the attempt to cover the clashes. A end of life life that is over worked and continued to be used that way.
