While looking around for a nice AU Flying Eagle, I came across one in a PCGS slab with the designation "Fly Eagle".
On PCGS slabs...
I've seen no designation other than year and denomination
I've seen "Flying Eagle"
I've seen just the variety listed on the tag.

Has anyone ever seen this "Fly Eagle" used before?

Thanks for any help.

May be a fake slab. Can you get a picture? If it's an 1856, almost definitely.

Just an 1857. The coin was at a nearby dealer's shop so I don't have a pic.

Could be a slab typo. I have seen that before.

One of the 1857s on ebay has a "fly eagle" marking, while others have "flying eagle". So there are at least two "fly"s out there.

Might be one of those fakes made in China. They make some great fakes but really have a problem with our spelling.
