I have a coin which was given to me by my father but not sure what or which one it is. I have tried doing some research on the internet but couldn't find this particular one. From what I understand, it is probably ancient greek? Not sure. If anyone on the forums could help, would be much appreciated. Report this Post to the Staff

The only region I know of that issued coins with a facing owl like that is Lucania, Velia. This coin does not look like any other examples that I have seen though. A indication of size and diameter would help - but based on the photo I'd have to say it was a modern copy trying to imatite coins of that region.
