Thanks ....... I'm applying the finish to that one "as we speak". I made an interesting observation concerning this lot. I have been trying to figure out if these were just pocket change set aside or of there was some numismatic method to the madness, and I did deduce one thing ... There is one high grade example of each denomination of the Barber coins...a 1905 nickel, 1916 dime, 1907 quarter, and the 1912 half. I still think that half looks like it was in an album with the peripheral toning. Maybe some of this material was from a type set that was recovered after a flood ... and the coins removed from the album years later, after the damage had already been done. Something extreme happened to some of them, but not others. I can especially envision that 1907 quarter with an acetate slide over it ... filled with water. Chance

The tracking information at ebay ... is way out of date. On a hunch, I loaded up the usps site, entered the tracking number, and my package was processed at the last stop that they always make before hitting my local PO, back at 11:00 pm est. The parcel will be there tomorrow. Better charge up the camera batteries. Chance

Just about ready to go pick up the prize. I was cruising the collections and lots category this morning and I think I did pretty good on this lot. Just something to look at if you have a minute. Nice selection. http://imgur.com/a/iHJkgChance

I'm back ....... and have rummaged through things a bit. The first thing that I am pleased to report is that the green crap has the consistency of lipstick. It's the kind that just melts away. These won't even see any kind of ammonia. Lighter fluid will dissolve this stuff almost instantly. The 1912 Half Dollar is everything I hoped it was. It's a Denver issue and high AU at least. That's the coin that takes this from a so-so lot to a good one. I'm glad to have bought it just for this coin alone. There are no super rarities aside from the barber half (condition rarity), though the 1916 Barber dime is of a similar grade, and a few other Barber issues are pretty nice. There are several "keepers" here. The 1928 Peace dollar ... thankfully was an "S". Nothing real exciting in the pennies, which were mostly wheaties. There were a dozen or so with dates as late as 1980. Pictures later.... Chance

Thanks ..... You should see it with the finish on it. It looks twice as good now. Here's the Barber half, and the "greenies" in the dish. There are a few more, but I figured I could do 2 small groups. You can see that without even the slightest agitation, the verdigris is just falling away. The Barber quarters were stuck together. Overall, I don't expect any significant surface damage from it. Chance First Miss Liberty: and the "pool"

That's PVC contamination, not verdigris. Acetone will take care of it assuming it hasn't etched the coins permanently yet.

Probably a 200 dollar coin at least. As nice as I could have had any right to expect. I did have the seller wrap that one seperately in a piece of paper towel for it's journey across half the country.

I need to get some acetone. The coins don't appear to be etched. I'll know more a little later.

There were no S minted buffalos ... The 28 was a D, and ther's a 36 D and 37 D as well. All legs present and accounted for unfortunately.
The Barber half has only 2 little spots of PVC contamination on the obverse. I suspect that it was imparted by one of the others.
