Is it possible to limit the range of dates within a certain coin category? For example, if I'm looking at Washington quarters, can I limit the dates in my search from between 1932 to 1943?

Yes you can. You need to enter the dates in the search box like this:

(1932, 1933, 1934, 1935)

You can put in as many dates or other search terms as you want. You need the parentheses though. It is telling ebay "look for 1933 OR 1934 OR 1935" and so on. Of course I'd recommend narrowing down the category first, otherwise you'll get every coin on ebay with those dates.

By the way, thanks for the tips in my other thread. One good turn deserves another!

So you can't just indicate a range, such as "1932 to 1943"?

Not that I know of. I think the problem is the ebay search engine isn't smart enough to understand the idea of a range of numbers, so you have to tell it each number you are interested in. It really shouldn't take too long to type it out, and if you do a particular search often you can just make it a saved search.

Someone more sophisticated with ebay may know more than me, but I'm pretty sure you can't do it the way you want.

I'm guessing you're right. In the early days of ebay they had nowhere the amount of search capabilities and other tools they have today. And to specify a range of dates seems to me would demand an additional type of software that searches in other categories wouldn't need. Thanks for the help!
