The coin is certainly damaged in a significant way but I cannot say much more than that based on one smallish photo with no reverse. No mention of the damage + no reverse photo= seller probably trying to hide something

I just can't pinpoint what the damage is. It damage like I've never seen.

My guess is that it may have once been holed and attached or nailed to something, and someone later forcibly detached it, pried it away. It's some form of PMD or post mint damage.

definitely PMD........environmental, maybe? I've never seen anything like it either
