Some nickels turn brown over time, especially if they were in the ground for a while (e.g. found while metal detecting). Try the acetone and if it doesn't come off there probably isn't much you can do. Report this Post to the Staff
googoo Valued Member United States 466 Posts	Posted 10/17/2011 6:36 pm In all honesty I hate cleaning coins! This is only a 1916. I found one in XF condition in a roll. They are a pretty cheap coin. I would probably just buy a new one. But thats just me. I never suggest cleaning on any coin, no matter what Report this Post to the Staff
