so you canadians have star notes as well so do we Americans and ours is for replacement as well.

In the series after that (Birds Series) the notes used an "X" as the last letter in the prefix to show that it was a replacement. Unfortunately, in Canada we no longer use Asterisk notes, although it would make brick searching a lot easier... |

Another common replacement note.
Book value is $6 in VF and $10 in EF.
How much did you pay for this one?

Sadly, I agree with North_of_49, for the 24th Edition of the Charlton Catalogue (2012) shows that you paid a bit too much ...
page 265 shows the table that houses your bill's description:
BC-38bA Beattie-Rasminsky *A/B => 188,000 printed => EF = $25

... but I bet you got it for $2 in change!?

I'm really hoping you didn't pay anymore than $25- $30 assuming its AU - UNC
note - you could probably pick up a Charlton Canadian paper money guide for around $20.00. This might be your very best investment.

The above scans do not do the bills justice, all of the above bills are believe it or not G/U.
I am unable to keep this up much longer so I will let you guys down easy, I wanted to try and get some kind of reaction (to which I succeeded somewhat) I have been collecting coins and bills for what seems like a hundred years.
The above bills were in a huge collection I purchased recently to which I payed $1500.00 for, kept the best and sold off the remainder for $1980.00, so in essence I got the bills for nothing..
OK you can kill me now, go ahead take your best shot..

By the way, I spent/wasted an enormous amount of money on this/our hobby before I started listening and learning from the dudes on this site (it's an amazing learning curve!) => man, I am embarrassed to fess-up some of my early paper-purchases! ... *yikes*
=> oh well, hopefully it's our hobby, not our retirement fund!

I'm not really collecting Canadian paper per se but think I have a couple from 1954... "devil's head" notes...they're not replacement notes but don't they also bring a premium?

It would really depend on the condition of the notes. However they always carry a premium, even in VG condition.
