I am unsure if this clipped, bent and rather worn coin is an Elizabeth I Hammered Sixpence or Shilling. It is 27mm in diameter. Could anyone confirm its identity, & see a mint mark at all?

my favourite on-line reference is Coins of England and Great Britain ('Coins of the UK') by Tony Clayton.
But he doesn't list any silver coins of 27mm, except the KG3 18d. Here are the choices that he offers -
19.0 mm 2.8 g Sixpence
21.0 mm 3.0 g Early Sixpence
24.0 mm 5.7 g Shilling
25.5 mm 6.0 g Early Shilling
27.0 mm 7.4 g 18 Pence
28.0 mm 11.3 g 1849 Godless Florin
28.5 mm 11.3 g The Florin, or Two Shillings
29.5 mm 11.3 g Jubilee Florin
30.0 mm 11.3 g Gothic Florin
32.0 mm 14.1 g Half Crown
34.0 mm 15.0 g Early Half Crown

Could you weigh your coin, please ?

Yep! it's clipped!

This coin has most of the post mint defects that are found with Elizabetann silver:

clipped,
bent,
weak strike on the head details.

Clipping is obviously apparent on the left edge of the coin in both pictures.

Not to worry, I still like to collect this material in any sort of condition.

So far as correcting the bend is concerned, If it were mine, I would straighten it. My method for doing this is to place it between two flat thin sheets of hard rubber, and squeeze in a vise. The result is that the coin will obviously look as if it was straightened, but it will still better than if it was still bent.

Another reason for straightening is that it will still wear unevenly along the bend line if it was left bent.

Thank you Peter THOMAS for your reply.
It comes out at 2g in weight, (unfortunately my digital scales are of the cooking variety and do not show fractions of a g) so identification is looking good for the Sixpence.

Thank you sel_69l for your reply.
Yeah, its definitely seen better days. Thank you for the straightening tip. It had not really crossed my mind to do it before, but because it is of low value, I might just give it a go.
