Evening all,I recently dug a coin at an old site but for the life of me, I can not ID this coin. It is the same size and thickness of my other Large cent but there are absolutely no markings with the exception of the profile head shot in the center.

It might be a Great Britain One Penny from the 50s/60s.

I'm sorry, I mean 1950s/1960s. The ribbons coming out of the back of the bust look like the ones on the young portrait of Elizabeth II.

EDIT: I did a little research and came up with a little extra information for you. The large-Size Great Britain Penny with Elizabeth's portrait was minted in 1953, then resumed in 1961 and then continuous until 1967. The British pound was decimalised in 1971.

There are no ribbons on this coin. It is pitted there. shadows probably making it look that way in the pics.

My first thoughts was that it was a Woods halfpenny.

I think you nailed it Rdwarrior. I jst checked out some other pics of King George farthings and I would have to say with almost 100% certainty that my coin is a King George. Thank you so much for your input.
