I'm looking for a resource that has a picture all known versions of the date for low-mintage Shield nickels. For this issues with less than 100 K coins minted, I would think that there aren't many versions of the date, but really I have no idea.

On a related note, anyone ever hear of Shield nickel dates being altered to look like the rarer mintages?

Thanks for your help

Try http://www.shieldnickels.net/snv/snv.html

Howard is one of the top people on the Shield nickel varieties and he is in touch with many of the other top people. SNV is eventually being built into what will hopefully eventually be a complete variety index for Shield nickels.
