I'm currently trying to sort out a proper list of banknotes issued by Macedonia. I'm working with a 15th edition (2009).

The problem? The listings in my edition are a mess and I want to try to sort it out and supply the publishers with a comprehensive list of notes issued since 1996.

Help needed? Is there a later edition than mine? If so can someone supply me with scans of the relevant pages for notes issued since 1996. Or confirm that I am working from the latest edition.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Vic, the World Banknote Gallery is usually pretty good, although they only go to '96 also. As you probably know, they have values, also.

I've found some info digging around and cobbled this list. I've sent an email to the catalog publishers so I'll let you know what they think when (or if) I get a reply. Part of which reads as follows:

"I feel that some issues merit a variety status (in regard to number of and variety of signatures).

Current listing:
#14a 10 Dinari 1996 to 2008.
#15a 50 Dinari 1996 to 2007.
#16a 100 Dinari 1996 to 2005.
#21a 500 Dinari 2003.
#22a 1000 Dinari 2003.

Issues and proposed listing:
#14a 10 Dinari 1996; 1997. (Two signatures at bottom left.)
#14b 10 Dinari 2001; 2003. (One signature at bottom left.)
#14c 10 Dinari 2005; 2006; 2007; 2008. (New signature.)
#15a 50 Dinari 1996; 1997. (Two signatures at bottom left.)
#15b 50 Dinari 2001; 2003. (One signature at bottom left.)
#15c 50 Dinari 2007. (New signature.)
#16a 100 Dinari 1996; 1997; 2000. (Two signatures at bottom left.)
#16b 100 Dinari 2002; 2004. (One signature at bottom left.)
#16c 100 Dinari 2005; 2007; 2008; 2009. (New signature.)
#21a 500 Dinari 2003. (One signature at bottom left.)
#21b 500 Dinari 2008; 2009. (New signature.)
#22a 1000 Dinari 2003. (One signature at bottom left.)
#22b 1000 Dinari 2008; 2009. (New signature."

Got this reply from George Cuhaj at Krause. Nice to think that they appreciate info from amateurs.

"Nice, I like that.
With the 2001-2008 one signature varieties, can we ID the two names?
I think I can incorporate this info nicely, however, it would be for the 2013 book, as the 2012 is already getting typeset."

Now trying to put together a list of signature names and images but the 1996 (two signatures) issues are a devil to edit (printing is too faint). Of the two single sig varieties I only have the name of the current Governor of the bank (Petar Goshev).

@thai-vic

Have you ever run across the Banknote Book website? Here's a link to his store:

https://secure.digitalcontentcenter...18/products/

He tries to fill the "holes" and correct the mistakes found in Krause. I don't know enough to say how good a job he's doing. But I have downloaded a few of his free sample countries, and he is definitely putting some hard work into this project.

His Macedonia chapter is only $4.99. According to him it includes 68 types and varieties including 5 notes unlisted in Krause. It was revised 25 Nov. 2011. Maybe it could be some help to you?

Schmidty, thanks for that reply and your interest. Howvever I am not in a position to make any purchases over the internet (I don't possess any kind of credit/debit card - hooray) and the postal service to Thailand leaves a lot to be desired anyway.

Now if anyone out there happens to have that specific book then perhaps some approprate scans?

It's actually a digital download, no need for mail. But yes, the purchasing would still be a problem for you. He does accept PayPal...

Just a bit of feedback about "Banknote Book"

I downloaded some of the "Files" last weekend for a couple of countries that I collect

Checked them against my collections and fed back information on signatures, values and varieties

Very prompt responses and after a bit of dialogue changes were made to listings to reflect revised values, new varieties and updated signature information

Highly recommend after my dealings
