Hello I am looking to replace some stolen proof sets. They are from 1988-2001. Please help if you know where I can buy these cheap because I feel that I will be hurt with shipping costs as well. I need three sets for each year 1988-2001 thank you so much

Sorry, you had your sets stolen. I'm assuming you're just referring the the clad proof sets because you didn't mention any silver. If so, the value of many of these have actually come down in recent years. Some internet sellers might still be charging higher prices and could hurt you a bit with shipping that much....besides shipping proof sets is a little delicate and some online sellers, trying to cut down on overhead, might not package them all properly. They might also sell you below average quality sets.

Any local coin shop would probably love to get these sets off their hands and would offer you a better price, a chance to see the coins, and no shipping. Smaller shops might not have the full inventory, but a larger one would. Nobody's buying something like a 1988 proof set right now, so they'll give you a great deal.

I'm sorry to hear such sad news.

Regarding replacing those lost coins: You can also go to coins show where there will be dealers (many of them) have sets available for sell (not the complete run) but you can gather many of them. The next coin show in Socal is in December 8 to 10 at Ontario Convention. Also, if you do some digging online, you may be able to find one for decent prices. Sometime, if you are lucky, you can get a great deals on ebay too.... you just have to be very careful, read the description, check on shipping cost, check on their feedback record for neutral or negative comment. Don't buy from anyone that has less than 99.7% positive feed back.

There are many local dealers that might have just what you need at a good price.

What part of the country are you in, maybe members can get you in touch with a good
dealer.

I am near Pensacola Florida, one dealer has two stores and I am sure he has all the proof sets
you would need.

If you have the cash to lay out in one big deal look for lot sets on ebay.

Yeas this one starts before your 1988- but maybe it would make a great addition to the ones you are searching for.
